2012 Tarock Tournament
The 18th annual Tarock Tournament sponsored by the Hallettsville Tarock Club and the Lavaca Chapter of the Czech Heritage Society was held on Sunday, March 4, 2012 at the KC Hall in Hallettsville. A group of 39 players from as far away as Dallas came to play the old European game of Tarock. Registration began at 8 AM with play starting at 9. Mr. Albert Pozzi catered the noon meal and the ladies of the Lavaca Czech Heritage Society provide the desserts, kolaches and pigs-in-a-blanket along with coffee and tea. The tournament ended at 4 PM with door prizes being awarded by Miss Lavaca Czech Slovak Queen 2012, Caitlin Orsak. Miss Orsak also assisted in awarding the individual prizes to the winners of the tournament. This year’s winners are (L to R): 1st place, Arnold Janda; 2nd place, Peggy Dresbach; 3rd place, Alton Demel; 4th place, Travis Mixon and 5th place, Eugene Kucera. Congratulations to the winners!
